Boeing posts zero new airplane orders for January

Boeing didn’t receive a single new aircraft order in January. A first for the company since 1962 as the fallout from the B-737MAX crisis continues.

Boeing’s bad luck has been a boon for Airbus, who received 274 orders for new aircraft in January.

The 737 remains grounded, and its flying ban is about to turn one year old in March. Boeing hopes to have the aircraft re-certified by regulators for flight by mid-2020

In January 2019, Boeing delivered 46 aircraft and collected 45 new orders. 2019 was undoubtedly one of the company’s worst years in decades. In fact, it concluded with the decision to stop production of the B-737MAX. Boeing lost close to 18 billion dollars on the aircraft in 2019.
